If you're struggling to find work, or if you lost a job because you're transgender, the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Transgender Economic Empowerment Project can help you succeed. Whether you want to find a job,  brush up your job skills or educate co-workers about the transitioning process, the Center has the resources you need to thrive in the workplace.   The Transgender Economic Empowerment Project can help you with challenges such as: Getting a job with a transgender-friendly employer  Staying at your current job as you start your transition Improving your job skills Legally changing your name and/or gender marker Finding housing Accessing recovery services for drug and alcohol addiction    Because each person's needs are unique, you'll begin with a one-on-one needs assesment to determine how the Center can best serve you.  In addition to the services available through the Transgender Economic Empowerment Program, you may benefit from other Center services such the Career Center and Learning Curve.   The Transgender Economic Empowerment Project also offers "Transgender 101" training sessions for employers. Sessions cover topics such as legal issues and pronoun usage.
