MASCULINITY & THE GAY MAN
The Importance of Masculinity in Gay Men's Lives & Relationships

Saturday, August 28, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

LOCATION The Village at Ed Gould Plaza

INSTRUCTOR Charles Rosasco

FORMAT Day-Long Experience

REQUIRED MATERIALS None

Coming from a culture of boys who were raised largely with fathers who were either physically or emotionally absent, we as gay men are often left feeling alone, isolated, and unsure of our own masculinity.

We are also systematically disenfranchised from the society of men through its entrenchment of homophobia.  Psychologically, the integration of masculinity into our identities is not optional for a strong sense of self.

In this workshop we will explore the role of masculine archetypes (King, Warrior, Magician, and Lover) and how we can be initiated into a place of authentic manhood.  This workshop will include small group work, video clips, and lecture.
