VERONICA MOLNER is an LA-based, 19-year-old painter whose work focuses on women and feminism. She is from New Jersey and has been painting all of her life. Veronica is a transgender client at the Center's Youth Center on Highland.
MARLAYA CHARLESTON has been drawing and painting the human figure since the age of 12. She began her formal training at age 16 at The Art Students League in New York City. She continued her studies in New York at Parsons School of Design, Cooper Union and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at The School of Visual Arts. Her influences include African art, the German Expressionists, Picasso and Matisse. Marlaya continues her artistic exploration making compositions using the figure with combinations of abstract shape, texture and color. Her works have appeared throughout the Los Angeles area and are collected internationally.
