RAPID QUEST HISTORY
Rapid Quest was born out of the founder's drive to help people and give back to the community in a unique and adventurous way. Through his passion for helping people build healthy minds and bodies, popular Los Angeles fitness guru Tad Brown created this Quest to combine a fundraising event with an adventurous excursion.
Rapid Quest is an all-inclusive whitewater-rafting weekend for socially and physically active men and women. Here's your chance to break out of traditional fundraising events, put your city-slicker life aside, and put your body to the test as your friends and family make donations to see if you really can brave the roaring rapids of Northern California's American River.
A Rapid Quest weekend is a unique way to engage your body and mind. Physically you'll be put to the test while rafting Class II - IV+ rapids each day, providing you a unique aerobic and anaerobic workout while testing your agility and stamina. Mentally you'll be put to the test while you're on the water navigating those treacherous rapids with your raft-mates and while you're on land as a group of whitewater adventurers who are fundraising for a common goal.
The first Rapid Quest took place in August 2008 on the American River in the heart of Northern California's Gold Rush Country. It was an unforgettable weekend experience for the 80 adventurers who raised more than $115,000 for the Youth & Senior Programs of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. As a "responsible vacation" option, Rapid Quest is a call to socially minded and adventurous individuals who want to give back to their community, meet new friends, and have an exciting weekend getaway.
