They know how to throw a party, but the women and men of the Center’s Young Professionals Council (YPC) have a deeper mission—getting the under-40 crowd more involved in the LGBT community.
The younger set has a reputation for expending energy on the social scene instead of activism. The YPC shows that it’s not always so; the group of nearly 30 young professionals invests countless hours |
volunteering for the Center, raising money for Center programs and educating their peers about the Center’s many services.
Much of that education takes place at high-energy events where young people have a chance to connect with new friends and to step up their involvement in the community—or, for those in need, access services at the Center.
