YPC Grows New Generation of Activists

They know how to throw a party, but the women and men of the Center’s Young Professionals Council (YPC) have a deeper mission—getting the under-40 crowd more involved in the LGBT community.

The younger set has a reputation for expending energy on the social scene instead of activism. The YPC shows that it’s not always so; the group of nearly 30 young professionals invests countless hours

volunteering for the Center, raising money for Center programs and educating their peers about the Center’s many services.

Much of that education takes place at high-energy events where young people have a chance to connect with new friends and to step up their involvement in the community—or, for those in need, access services at the Center.
